Mission Statement

The American Eurasian Research Institute, Inc. (AERI) (formerly the Kazakh/American Research Project) was incorporated as a not-for-profit education research organization in 1989. AERI sponsors projects that include scholarly exchanges with Russian, Mongolian, Kazakh, American, Canadian, and European scholars and students. Areas of investigation include ethnography, archaeology, and linguistics in conjunction with the following Academy of Sciences: Institute of Archaeology, Moscow, Russia: Institute of History, Ethnography, and Archaeology, Almaty, Kazakhstan; the Institute of Archaeology, Chisinau, Moldova (formerly Moldavia SSR); and Institute of History (Department of Archaeology), Ulanbaatar, Mongolia. These projects are sponsored by AERI subsidiary, Center for the Study of Eurasian Nomads (CSEN). CSEN also sponsors a scholarship program for students interested in Eurasian archaeology. Zinat Press, also a subidiary of AERI, publishes and distributes scholarly books on Eurasian archaeology and the Silk Road. The Center for the Study of Eurasian Nomads maintains this Website to disseminate educational articles on Eurasian archaeology and ethnography.
